Welcome to the Team Bampa page!
When deciding on a place to get away for a few days for my mom's birthday on September 13th, she said "how about Ocean City?"
We had never been there before, but we thought it sounded like a great idea. When we found out that Ocean City was hosting a Walk to Defeat ALS on September 16th, we realized that she had chosen the perfect place.
As anyone reading this can certainly attest to, we all lost someone very dear and near to us recently. Whether you called him Vinny, or Ginzo, or Bampa, or Dad, I am sure that he impacted your life positively as he did mine.
ALS is an utterly brutal disease. There is no other way to describe it. My dad once said that if Lou Gehrig couldn't beat it, then nobody can, but it does not have to be like that forever.
My family has personal experience with the ALS Association, and we couldn't possibly speak more highly of them. They were incredibly empathetic towards our situation, and the amount of help that they provided us with was simply immeasurable.
I ask that anyone reading this joins my family, the ALS Association, and myself in donating to the Walk to Defeat ALS. Any amount that you can donate will be appreciated.
